Cricket Dinner

This event took place in July 2005 at Trinity Manor. Guests included leading Sri Lankan cricketers Muttiah “Murali” Muralitheran, one of the world’s greatest spin bowlers and Aravinda da Silva, a former Sri Lankan Test Cricket captain, together with their manager Kushil Gunasekera, founder of the charity “Foundation of Goodness”, which has been responsible for the reconstruction of the Sri Lankan village Seenigama after the devastation of the Boxing Day tsunami of 2004.
After cocktails in the Manor itself, the dinner was held in a specially constructed marquee in the grounds and was followed by a hugely successful auction of items donated by the cricketers themselves.
The evening raised £30,000, which was split between The Vocational Training Centre and the Foundation of Goodness.
